Arrowood Farm Brewery
Branding & Packaging
Arrowood Farm Brewery was a cult favorite for top-notch beer in New York’s Hudson Valley, featuring a range of seasonally inspired farmhouse ales and a tasting room located on-site at the very farm where hops, yeast and other brewing ingredients are grown.
As a result of its early successes, the brand had the chance to gain national distribution and expand its product portfolio. To do so, however, Arrowood would need to standardize its visual identity and figure out how to translate its farmhouse brand to those who have not visited the brewery.
We first tackled articulating the Arrowood brand story around the idea of Beer From the Ground Up which spoke directly to their philosophy that a Farm Brewery should use only what’s available on their farm – or their neighbors, for everything they do.
After refining their mark and brand identity we moved onto creating the design architecture for labeling and packaging bottles and cans of Arrowood beer to distributed and sold at retail for the first time.

With their brand and marketing strategy clearly articulated, Arrowood secured national distribution, an additional round of funding from private investors, as well as a highly competitive grant from the State of New York to support ongoing expansion primarily predicated on the strength of their marketing plan to bring visitors to the Hudson Valley — testament to the scalability of the branding approach we developed.
Beyond retail, the brand has also earned a place on the menus of some of the nation’s top restaurants, including 11 Madison Park, Per Se and Blanca — a relationship that will deepen as we pursue non-traditional food-and-beer partnerships.
The Arrowood brand has seen such success, it has moved aggressively into spirits and canned beverages and distilled spirits.
